- Accessories (ring, amulet, banner) are the last three slots. They only open for well-ranked champions, drop mostly from Spider's Den, and count toward some sets.
- Glyphs from Faction Wars raise a substat a piece already has. A higher-rank glyph can lift it further.
- Ascension spends oil (armour) or extracts (accessories) on a good piece to give it a permanent extra stat that grows with each of six levels.
- The Forge crafts sets that do not drop in dungeons. It does not upgrade or ascend gear.
- All three are late polish. Do them on pieces you will keep.
Accessories: ring, amulet and banner
Accessories are worn like armour but live in their own tab. Their main stats are all flat numbers, with these options:
| Slot | Main stat | Opens at (one source) |
|---|---|---|
| Ring | HP, ATK or DEF | Rank 4 (four stars) |
| Amulet | HP, ATK or DEF, or C.DMG | Rank 5 and ascension level 5 |
| Banner | HP, ATK or DEF, ACC or RES | Rank 6 and ascension level 6 |
Accessories come from the Spider's Den, from Clan vs Clan rewards and from some events. They level up to +16 like armour. See gear basics for how upgrading and substats work.
The ring, amulet and banner also count as pieces for the variable sets (Swift Parry, Deflection, Stone Skin, Protection, Feral, Supersonic and others), which is what lets those sets reach nine pieces. There are also sets that only exist on accessories. Each piece gives a small effect:
| Set | Each piece gives | From |
|---|---|---|
| Refresh | 5% chance a skill the wearer uses does not go on cooldown (not the basic attack) | Tag Team Arena Bazaar |
| Cleansing | 8% chance at the start of the wearer's turn to remove 1 random debuff | Tag Team Arena Bazaar |
| Bloodshield | A shield worth 5% of the damage the wearer deals (area attacks count for a quarter) | Clan vs Clan |
| Reaction | 25% chance to turn a crit on the wearer into a normal hit, only before the attacker's first turn of the round | Clan vs Clan |
| Revenge | 5% chance the wearer counterattacks when hit | Clan Shop |
These are niche. The main-stat pick on the accessory (ATK, C.DMG, ACC, RES) matters more for most builds, and the priority guide says which to take.
Glyphs
A glyph is a small upgrade item that you attach to a piece of gear to strengthen a substat it already has. It does not add a new line and does not touch the main stat.
- Stats. HP, ATK, DEF, SPD, RES and ACC. A glyph only works on a substat of the same kind.
- Source. Faction Wars crypts, and the harder the stage, the better the glyph. See Faction Wars. You can store as many as you want.
- How to use. Select the piece, open the upgrade screen, switch to the Enchant tab, pick a matching glyph and confirm. Glyphs that fit the piece show up lit.
- Rank. A glyph has a rank that sets how far it can lift the substat. A higher one allows a bigger bonus.
- No stacking. A newer glyph replaces the earlier bonus on that substat, so they do not add up.
The glyph value adds on top of the substat. For example, a flat "SPD +5" substat with a glyph worth +3 counts as +8 on the champion's sheet. This is why a SPD or ACC glyph on a piece that already rolled well is the best use: it makes a good roll better.
Gear ascension
Ascension is a second upgrade track that comes after +16. A piece that is ascended gets a bonus stat in addition to its main stat and substats, and the bonus rises with each ascension level, 1 to 6. Do not confuse it with champion ascension (purple stars), which uses potions and acts on a champion.
- Needs. A piece of at least rank 4 (four stars) upgraded to level 12 or more, for both armour and accessories. Older sources also mention an account level requirement (38 at launch), which a player who has reached this stage has long passed.
- Cost. No silver. Armour uses oil from the Sand Devil's Necropolis: Lesser for ascension levels 1 and 2, Greater for 3 and 4, Superior for 5 and 6. Accessories use extracts from the Phantom Shogun's Grove, in the same three sizes. See dungeons.
- The bonus. The first level adds a random bonus stat chosen from the slot's own options. It cannot be removed or rerolled, and it stays if you rework the piece. Higher levels make the same bonus bigger.
Who to ascend: pieces that are already on a champion you use and that have a set you keep. Speed boots are a special case. Their bonus can be extra SPD, which is valuable on a champion that needs it, but extra speed can also break a team whose speeds are tuned to each other.
The Forge
The Forge is a crafting screen. It turns materials into pieces of a chosen set, mainly sets that do not drop in dungeons:
| Source of materials | Sets you can make |
|---|---|
| Faction Wars | Resilience, Perception |
| Doom Tower bosses | Affinitybreaker, Untouchable, Fatal, Frostbite, Bloodthirst, Guardian, Fortitude, Lethal |
| Forge Pass | Instinct, Bolster, Defiant, Righteous, Slayer |
| Relic materials | Relics, not gear (see relics and gemstones) |
Crafting is not a way to ascend or reroll a piece. The result is a new item of the set you selected, with random substats like any other drop. Pick the set you want and farm its materials.
Next: relics and gemstones, the other slot that holds a special effect.
